This Weekend: A Playground and Prayer?
Playground
This Saturday, August 15 we’re helping build a new playground next to MARC Stoughton on Roby Ave. We’ll meet at the park at 8am (note new time). This is a great opportunity for us to be good neighbors, and there are ways for everyone (including kids) to play a part. If you’ve already RSVP’d - thank you - we’ll see you there. If not, you’re still welcome to join us!
Prayer?
Have you ever prayed and things didn’t turn out the way you’d hoped? Do you ever wonder if God answers prayer, or ask “If God’s gonna do what God’s gonna do, then why pray?”
Many of us have experienced situations where we’ve prayed and it felt like God wasn’t listening. And yet other times we’ve prayed or known someone that prayed and the situation changed. Does God answer prayer? Sometimes, but not all the time? Or does God always answer prayer it’s just that sometimes God says no? Some of us are angry with God for not answering the prayers we’ve prayed for years. Why did he answer their prayer but not ours? What if there’s more to prayer than just God listening and answering?
Perhaps if we understood how Jesus prayed, our concepts and expectations of prayer would change. Let’s explore this together this Sunday morning during our gathering at 10am at MARC Stoughton.
